So here I sit, preparing for Heroes Con in Charlotte, and I just can’t help but feel inspired! There’s going to be so many cool things going on there, that I’m preparing a checklist of things to try and do while there so I don’t forget! Stan Lee himself will be there, so you know that’s on the list. The guy is just amazing to have done all he’s done in life, and still be the nicest guy in the world. Ups and downs at the highest levels, and at 80 he still cranks out comics and goes to see his fans! He’s a definite inspiration. I’m also looking forward to checking out the Indie Isle, where all the guys and girls trying to make a name for themselves showcase their books and art. There are always some cool gems there like Billy Fowler, Chrissie Zullo, and Sara Richard! (If you haven’t checked out their deviant art DO IT!!! http://sweatybuffalo.deviantart.com/ http://chrissie-zullo.deviantart.com/   http://sararichard.deviantart.com/ ) There are also some pretty great panels usually at Heroes Con specifically. Anyone looking to learn more about the industry or pick up some tasty little hints and tricks should try and attend these. I’m especially excited for ‘Creator Owned Comics’ with Steve Niles, Phil Soto, and Kevin Mellon. They’ll be talking about their Anthology from Image Comics! Sorry this rant is so unstructured, I’ve got so much to do before I leave tomorrow at 6am to cram in a tiny car. For 5 hours. With 3 other guys. And share 1 hotel room! Hahaha I feel like I’m in a garage band and I’m trying to make it big!
